The Master's University men's golf team took home first place at the Sea Beggar Invitational, while the women finished fourth, as the Mustangs completed the second and final round at Brookside Golf Club on Tuesday.

"It was a huge win for our team and praise God for blessing our hard work," Master's head coach Jacob Hicks said. "We are going to enjoy this win. It is the first time in school history that we have beaten OUAZ, which is a top-10 ranked team and currently ahead of us in the rankings."

The men entered Tuesday with a nine-stroke lead over Ottawa University Arizona and were able to extend that to 10 after the final round. As a team, TMU shaved four shots off its score from Monday.

"I'm very proud of the way my guys handled the pressure of having the lead," Hicks said.

No Mustang improved their standing more than Josh Kehl, who shot an even 72 on Tuesday, the best round by anyone in either round of the tournament.

"Josh Kehl had the best round of the tournament today, which was massive," Hicks said. "He played amazing golf and responded well after his performance yesterday."

Tyler Smith shot a five-over 77 in the second round to finish the tournament tied for third at eight-over, just one stroke off the lead. Kehl, Shea Murphy and Eric Martin all finished tied for fifth at nine-over. Jack Dudeck rounded up Mustangs in the top-15, as he tied for 14th overall at 15-over.

On the women's side, Isabella Huff tied for ninth after a second-round 89, which was four shots better than her round on Monday.

"Isabella Huff played solid golf and rolled in some nice putts to finish off her round," Hicks said.

Sierra Pilgrim broke 100 for the second-straight day, finishing tied for 20th, while Faith Ellms was the next Mustang on the leaderboard at tied for 23rd.

The Master's women are set to play next on March 1-2 at the William Jessup Invite at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin, while the men's next tournament is the San Diego Christian Invite at Singing Hills Golf Resort in El Cajon on March 15-16.
